It was difficult to choose my top 3 because in reality, I had a top 12. But overall, my thoughts on S/S 2010 RTW were a bit scattered, yet admirable at the amount of versatile and high-low styles there was. Here are my top 3, in no particular order:

1) Moschino Cheap and Chic

I am adoring all of MC&C’s pieces. They all ooze femininity and girliness with subtle tailoring and a disheveled artistic edge. The colors pop and the hems are extremely fun, flirty, and flattering. I can’t get over the black and pink lace they used in their dresses, the ruffle trims and pink accents styled to their seperates, and the colorful fabrics creatively utilizes in their final pieces.

2) Jenni Kayne

Now having looked at the sportswear this season, none of them stuck out to me like Jenni Kayne. Her pieces were minimalist at it’s best in addition to the 90’s mod-esque cropped tops that were styled to bare a little midriff, which I enjoyed the most. The seperates are totally versatile and have the perfect casual and relaxed fit with tailoring in the right places.

3) Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson’s collection this season striked me as playful, sexy, and tough. I love her use of sheer fabrics in her pieces, especially the rolled up tights with her shorts and skirts and the last dress shown above with the embellished pockets. These among other pieces in her show were feminine in a seductive way and less girlier than her past collections. Still, the powder-pink colors, cinched waistbelts, and subtle skin revealing were able to make due with the acid wash seperates, stud embellishments, and leather. These pieces are definitely for the girly girl who’s hitting the streets.

1.) Badgley Mischka Spring 2010 collection…

The collection truly captures the essence of being a woman. The designers known for Old-Hollywood glamour stayed true to their reputation. Their inspiration for the new spring season? Mid Fifties in Cuba. The glamour of the 50’s is seen seamlessly through their well structured dresses and skirts. The low cut necklines add a sultry twist to their pieces, which are form-fitting and flattering on a woman’s curves. The colors and patterns are simple, yet elegant and classic. Once again Badgley Mischka prove that being beautiful can be effortless.

2.) Donna Karen Spring 2010 Collection

I’m finally a fan of Donna Karen (again!). The collection is a parade of pure elegance. Some dresses are sleek and sexy, some are soft and flowy, and others are just glamorously upscale. They’re reminiscent of the dresses that the women of MadMen would proudly wear in today’s society. A fabulous working girl’s fantasy? Perhaps. Either way these lovely beauties will surely be front runners for any uptown girl.
